Red-crested Turaco - Adult

Distribution: Africa - West and Central Angola

Habitat: Evergreen and riverine forests.

Diet: Very little information known on wild diet. Primarily thought to take fruit and berries.

Breeding: Nest on a flimsy platform of twigs, 1.5 - 10 meters off the ground.

Clutch size: Usually two white eggs.

Incubation: Shared by both sexes - 24 days.

Rearing: The young are fed by both sexes. Chicks fed by parents regurgitating food into beak.

Fledge age: 16-21days, will attempt to leave the nest before they can fly.

Maturity: Both sexes capable of breeding from 1 year old.
